Dr. Malye Meyer Zu Westerhausen

Dr. Meyer’s big dream was to return to Canada and work here as a vet since he had been in Alberta working on a cattle farm in Alberta after he finished high school in Northern Germany where he was born.  He joined our team in September 2024 after his military service and working as a veterinarian for a while in Europe. 

Dr. Meyer finished his DVM degree in the the Netherlands where he focused his studies on large animal medicine and even conducted a PhD in animal nutrition in Germany. After that he was working with both small and large animal in private practice. Currently he his following a program to become an IAED certified equine dentist and is our main large animal DVM in the clinic. Aside of that he highly enjoys surgery, but you will also have a chance to meet him in regular small animal appointments. 

In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, running and traveling. He is always up for a little chat and especially happy to serve clients in different languages like Dutch, Swedish German and of course English.
